We’re so proud of our partners up in Hollywood, the “eco-convenience store” called Locali! And KTLA is impressed as well - enough to do a segment on them! See their clip “Convenience just got greener”
They say, “Thanks to one local couple, convenience just got a whole lot greener! Melissa Rosen and Greg Horos recently opened a convenience store that offers eco-friendly and health conscious food, beverages and grab-and-go items. Asha shows us how ginger smoothies and gluten-free ice cream have become all the rage at this popular new twist on quicky marts.”

Follow Your Heart in Canoga Park has (appropriately) our Valentine’s Day cookies

Another new partner, Follow Your Heart Market and Cafe, is carrying our heart-shaped cookies for Valentine’s Day. These are not only gluten-free & casein-free but also egg-free / vegan (we use maple syrup instead of the honey originally called for in the recipe) and of course all-natural. Big, beautiful & delicious cookies but we only sent a few, so if I were you I’d would rush on down there to make sure I got some!
They also have a full assortment of our muffins and regular cookies, as well as a limited supply of bread, so if you don’t see The Sensitive Baker products on their shelves, please ask for us by name! We might be hiding, but we’re in there, and I hope to STAY there!
Follow Your Heart has been a Southern California tradition for almost 40 years, with full service produce, dairy, nutrition, body care, even gifts and books. (Everything except meat, in keeping with their vegetarian philosophy.) They are not just about their Vegenaise! Their all-vegan cafe was voted one of the 8 best restaurants in California by the Vegetarian Resource Group. We’re honored to have this chance to partner with them and appreciate any support our customers can give us there!
Follow Your Heart is located at:
21825 Sherman Way, Canoga Park, California, 91303

Very exciting for all Ventura county customers, and everyone in the far west valley: Simply Gluten Free, which has been doing gorgeous gluten-free gift baskets for years, is now opening its first brick-and-mortar store in Thousand Oaks. The Grand Opening is Saturday, January 31, 2009. They are carrying a wide variety of strictly-gluten-free items, from corn chips to gf-oats from Only Oats in Canada (the same kind we use!) They carry Bob’s, Glutino, and many other brands including (you guessed it!) The Sensitive Baker. Thanks to all our loyal customers who told them about us.
They had a pre-opening party a few weeks ago for the Ventura County Celiac Foundation group, and actually SOLD OUT of our Focaccia bread! They’ll also carry our best-selling Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Hamburger Buns, and Breadsticks, plus much more.
You MUST check out their store! You’ll find many products you can’t get any where else, all under one roof! What a convenience!
Location: 1321 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd #A108

Where to get gf-goodies in Hollywood (plus lots more!)
Meet our newest partners; Locali: Conscious Convenience, located in Franklin Village area of Hollywood. To call them “a 7-11 of the future” or “an eco-friendly convenience store” doesn’t do them justice. Where else can you get hot dogs from grass-fed beef or vegan tofu, or organic, free-range ostrich burgers? Locali sells natural, non-gmo, locally-produced convenience-oriented food and grocery items, including our very own gluten-free bagels, breadsticks, muffins & brownies, to eat at their reclaimed Douglas-fir counters or to take home. They serve slushie-type drinks of natural fruit sweetened with agave, or you can re-fill your water bottle with reverse osmosis filtered water. Trash is recycled or composted.
And isn’t it pretty? It’s the store I always dreamed of, if only I’d had another 1000 sq. ft. and another hundred thousand dollars to do it!
Edited to add: They’re already a hit! See the Quarry Girl blog post about them!
Check them out at LocaliYours.com or visit them in person, today!
Address: 5825 Franklin Avenue,

We’re SO proud to announce our new partnership with Hansen’s Cakes, LA’s most delectable designer cake company! Finally, gorgeous gluten-free party cakes, even wedding cakes! (For their latest creations, visit the Hansen’s blog. Wow! These guys are both hip AND delicious!)
Even better, they’re not raising our prices a drop - 8″ round gluten-free cakes still start at $50 - which means you’re getting a far better decorated cake (far better-tasting too, with their frosting) for a far, far better value.
Hansen’s has the twin distinction of being RCC-kosher certified (yes!) AND open Saturdays (double-yes!!); and they can make casein-free frosting using no dairy other than clarified butter (ghee, generally allowed on a gf/cf diet, but check with your doctor.) Finally, they have (oh, joy!) not one, not two, but THREE locations to serve you better!
Read on to learn how Hansen’s is keeping your cakes safe from gluten-contamination, and why I’ve always had my heart set on baking for them…. Read the rest of this entry »

I can’t believe it! This kid has been around for less than seven months, yet he feels like an integral part of our history! You remember David, he started last February, fetching flour and delivering cupcakes. He checked the lettuce for bugs (until the RCC found us certified bug-free lettuce; and then in the end we discontinued salads anyway….) By June & July, he was delivering sales packages to MAJOR potential clients, smooth-talking his way past the gate-keepers with his incredible… what’s the word..?.. charm.

Woody, dah-ling, you’ve got it all backward! It’s not so amazing that the goods are gluten-free. The amazing thing is that, being gluten-free, they still taste good!

Make sure to catch gfMeals.com / Your Dinner Secret on The KTLA Morning News tomorrow (Wednesday), between 6:00 and 9:00 AM PST. There will be 10 second teases randomly throughout the show and 3 minute segments around 6:40, 7:50 and 8:40.
KTLA’s remote reporter Gayle Anderson will be broadcasting from the Your Dinner Secret location in Woodland Hills, noshing on their mouthwatering gluten-free food (including maybe also a bundt or two!) and interviewing their team and their customers. In fact, the anchors will be eating their gluten-free goodies in the studio too.
If you do miss it, we’ll post the link to the streaming video on the KTLA web site.
Kudos to co-owner Roni Piterman for getting this kind of exposure & raising awareness
of celiac disease and gluten-sensitivity! Why it seems like only last week they featured YDS in the Daily News — oh, wait, that WAS last week! Keep up the good work, Roni!
We’ll be cheering for you tomorrow over our morning coffees and chocolate-zucchini muffins!
We are so pleased to announce that we (finally) got a real
“seal of approval” from the Rabbinical Council of California.
Of course we’ve been kosher all along, but until now you only had MY word on that. This way The Sensitive Baker can market our products to more than just the five kosher celiacs who actually know me!
Shh! It’s not even on their own website yet, but we have it on the “down low” that Your Dinner Secret will convert to a dedicated gluten-free facility next month! This place is an incredible mechiyah (relief) to busy gf cooks everywhere.

to be shipped.
Having delicious, completely prepped, ready-to-make, fresh-frozen gluten-free meals delivered to your door sounds tempting enough. But you must come in one time to fully appreciate the beauty of this concept.
